Djuro Kosanovic, PhD, has finished his studies of Molecular Biology and Physiology at Belgrade University, Serbia in 2005. In 2007 he started his PhD studies at Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, Germany and received his doctoral degree in 2011. The focus of his research is the field of pathophysiology and histology of chronic pulmonary diseases, such pulmonary hypertension, lung fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Djuro Kosanovic is a faculty member of the “International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences” (GGL) and tutor of the following GGL workshops: “Introduction into Methodology of Scientific Thinking and Logic” , “Respiratory and cardiovascular systems in extreme environments: what´s climate change got to do with it?” and "Research methods for pharmacotherapy – from macroscopic imaging through microscopy to the molecular level: learn the contemporary techniques needed for the science of the 21st century". During 2015-2016 he was the Chair of the “PVRI Committee for Young Clinicians and Scientists”. Since 2017 he is a visiting scholar at the Agriculture and Forestry University in Chitwan, Nepal.
