Harvard Medical School - Burke Advanced Fellowship opportunity

We are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for The Burke Advanced Fellowship in Pulmonary Heart Disease at Harvard Medical School.

Applications are now being accepted for a specialized advanced fellowship in pulmonary heart disease starting July 1, 2019. This training program is sponsored by the Center for Pulmonary Heart Disease at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Heart and Vascular Center. The position offers an intensive clinical experience, including evaluation and management of inpatients and outpatients with pulmonary vascular disease, right heart failure, and end stage heart and lung disease. In addition, applicants are strongly encouraged to participate in a translational or clinical research project.

Applications are invited from physicians who have completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in either pulmonary and critical care medicine or cardiovascular medicine. This fellowship is designed to prepare trainees for academic careers with a focus on pulmonary heart and vascular disease. Supervision and teaching is provided by Harvard Medical School faculty from the Divisions of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.

The duration of the clinical fellowship is one year with an option of a second year focusing on research. Full funding is available for those fellows wishing to pursue the research year. Program faculty will assist fellows in project support for additional training focused on research and academic career development. Opportunities are available across the spectrum of basic science, translational science, and clinical research in all aspects of pulmonary heart disease. Interested applicants should submit a personal statement explaining their interest and long term plans, their CV, and 3-letters of recommendation by September 1, 2018.
