A challenge for the PAH!

For four years running, members of the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Research Group (PAH) have taken part in the 10 and 21 km races at theĀ SSQ Marathon. This year, nearly 20 people are running on 13 October to support people with this serious illness.

People affected by Pulmonary arterial hypertension are at high risk of heart failure and death due to usually have abnormally high blood pressure in their lungs. Sufferers of PAH are generally young and struggle with daily activities such as walking or climbing stairs, this massively hinders their day-to-day lives. There is no cure for this life-threatening vascular disease.

Events like these are important for us to be able to engage with members from the community and raise the profile of PH locally
