£36,000 in abstract & travel awards available for PVRI 2027 Bangkok
We are proud to announce £36,000 in abstract and travel awards to help early-career professionals and colleagues from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) join us at PVRI 2027 in Bangkok. This investment will widen access, celebrate excellence, and help ensure that talented professionals from across our global community, including new contacts in Southeast Asia, can take part in our Congress.
This fund signals our commitment to early-career development, equitable access, and long-term capacity building, especially for colleagues who face financial barriers at PVRI meetings, and for those working in settings where support is needed most.
Travel awards include:
- £10,000 for Global Early Career LMIC Travel Awards (New)
These new awards are to help build research, care, advocacy or service development globally. Five awards of up to 2,000 each (£10,000 total) are available for early-career professionals living and working in LMICs across the world. - £10,000 for Southeast Asia & Sri Lanka Capacity Building Travel Awards (New)
These new awards are to help strengthen collaboration, engagement, and long-term professional research and development in PH, a total of £10,000 is available to professionals actively working in PVD from Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, & Thailand).
Applications for the travel awards are now open! Applications will close 25 August 2026, 12:00 BST.

Abstract awards:
- £16,000 for Best Early-Career Abstract Awards (Expanded)
Seven awards of £2,000 each (increased from three £500 grants) will be awarded to the lead authors of the best submitted abstracts to PVRI 2027. As well as the £2,000 Rupert Swift Award, and the Butrous Foundation Young Investigator Award
