Please do research before applying so that you can provide a realistic estimate of the travel and accommodation expenses for which reimbursement is requested. Only actual, reasonable, and documented travel and accommodation expenses incurred in connection with attendance at the meeting are eligible for reimbursement. Delegate fees and other categories of expense are not reimbursable unless expressly approved in writing by PVRI in advance.

The travel grants are competitive, and meeting the application criteria is not a guarantee of funding.

Please note - these awards are only for early career professionals. PVRI defines an early career colleague as: 

  • An individual who is within 10 years of completing their terminal research training (e.g. PhD, MD), excluding any periods of recognised leave (e.g. parental leave, illness, clinical or caring responsibilities), 
  • who does not currently hold a tenured or senior academic position, and 
  • who has not received major independent, non-mentored research funding (e.g. grants >$100,000 USD or equivalent).
