The India Task Force is driving nationally relevant progress in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) care, research, and education across India. Working closely with PVRI’s global network, the group focuses on improving early diagnosis, strengthening clinical collaboration, and developing guidance that reflects the realities of the Indian healthcare system.

What we’ve been working on

  • The Task Force has made significant strides in building the foundations for consistent, high-quality PAH care nationwide:
  • India’s first national PAH guidelines have been finalised for submission — a landmark, India-wide guidance developed through PVRI collaboration
  • A multicentre yoga trial in PAH has been initiated, exploring culturally relevant supportive therapies
  • Digital stethoscope screening initiatives are being implemented to support earlier detection of PAH

What’s next

  • Momentum is building, with a strong focus on turning guidance into action:
  • Publication and nationwide dissemination of the Indian PAH guidelines
  • Expanded participation in multicentre registries and pragmatic studies to strengthen real-world evidence from India
  • Hosting the PVRI India Biannual Conference (February–March 2026), where the national PAH guidelines will be formally shared with the wider clinical community
