Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Task Force is a regional initiative focused on strengthening the recognition, diagnosis, and management of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in Sri Lanka.
The Task Force brings together clinicians and key stakeholders to support improvements in patient outcomes through greater recognition of PH and education. It also focuses on the development of structured referral pathways and nationally relevant guidelines tailored to the local healthcare system.

The Task Force’s focus is to:

  • establish PH hubs across national and teaching hospitals to strengthen referral networks and access to specialist care
  • deliver webinars in complex echocardiography to support early recognition of PH, and develop a prioritisation algorithm to guide referral to right heart catheterisation
  • support the development of national PH data to inform service development and facilitate engagement with health authorities and policy stakeholders.
