Pulmonary hypertension (PH) affects patients at all stages of life, but there are important aspects that differentiate pediatric from adult disease. The pediatric task force at the 7th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension (WSPH) recently highlighted our latest understanding of these differences, including considerations relating to PH definition, classification, treatment, and prognostication [1]. Prognostication is of particular importance for younger patients and their families, and can be particularly difficult given the breadth of disease etiologies and severity associated with PH in childhood.
