New PH patient resources: understanding clinical trials

24 August 2026

PVRI's IDDI Patient Engagement & Empowerment Workstream has launched a new collection of PH patient resources designed to help people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), their families, and carers better understand clinical trials and research participation.

Developed to be clear, practical, and accessible, the collection covers topics including what clinical trials are, how they work, potential benefits and risks, informed consent, patient rights, and the growing role of patients in shaping research.

The collection includes:

  • a 13-part video series on YouTube, with captions and auto-translation available in multiple languages
  • a patient information flyer, including a large-font version
  • a flyer for sponsors and research teams on the value of patient involvement in clinical trial design
  • co-brandable resources that patient associations can customise and share within their communities

Whether someone is considering participation in a clinical trial or simply wants to learn more about clinical research, these resources are designed to support informed decision-making and meaningful patient involvement.
