Nominations now open for PVRI President 2028-30 and PVRI Achievement Awards 2026
We are delighted to announce that nominations are now open for both the PVRI President 2028-30 and PVRI Achievement Awards 2026.
These nominations provide an opportunity to recognise outstanding contributions to PH research, care and collaboration, and to help shape the future leadership of PVRI. Nominations are now open and will remain open for six weeks, closing on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 09:00 GMT.
Only PVRI members can submit nominations, helping ensure these important decisions are made by the global PH community they represent. If you're not yet a member, now is the perfect time to join and have your say in recognising outstanding contributions to PH and helping shape PVRI's future leadership. Become a member today.
PVRI President 2028-30
We are delighted to invite our members to nominate a proactive PVRI member with a high-profile scientific reputation in the fields of PH and PVD to serve as PVRI President 2028-30.
The President acts as an ambassador and figurehead, promoting PVRI’s work and endorsing our values. They are the ‘scientific face’ of the PVRI, representing us at major scientific events and in our work with global health organisations. The President also oversees the planning for our Annual World Congress, Drug Development meetings, and our monthly webinar series. They act as our spokesperson and often represent us at events, and they use their own medical and scientific networks to further the charity’s work.
The PVRI President-Elect will be announced at PVRI 2027 Bangkok and will join the Board as an advisory member for a year to learn more about us and for a handover period with current President Brad Maron, before taking on the two-year Presidency in 2028.
Members may nominate themselves or another PVRI member. As a global organisation, PVRI welcomes nominations from every region of the world. We particularly encourage members to consider outstanding candidates from outside the United States, helping ensure our leadership continues to reflect the diversity and international perspective of our global PH community.
For more information, please read the President's Terms of Reference and Recruitment Process.

PVRI Achievement Awards 2026
Each year, the PVRI Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and dedication across the global PH community. Presented at the PVRI 2027 Bangkok Gala Dinner & Awards Presentation Evening, the awards recognise individuals whose work has advanced research, improved patient care and strengthened collaboration worldwide.
We are now accepting nominations for:
- PVRI Lifetime Achievement Award
The PVRI Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a senior PH investigator or clinician who has made direct and substantive contributions to the PH field and, ideally, to PVRI. Recent recipients include Stephen Archer, Rubin Tuder, Martin Wilkins and Joanna Pepke-Zaba.
- PVRI Achievement Award
The PVRI Achievement Award recognises one or more mid-career PVRI members who have made a significant contribution to basic or clinical research. Previous recipients include Sebastien Bonnet, Steeve Provencher, Gabor Kovacs, Bradley Maron and Nick Morrell.
- PVRI Special Recognition Award
Introduced in 2026, the PVRI Special Recognition Award honours PVRI members, either individuals or groups, for outstanding service to PVRI and to the field of PH.
If you know a colleague whose work deserves recognition, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
