PVRI welcomes Rachel Arrundale as a Trustee

15 October 2026

We are delighted to welcome Rachel Arrundale to the PVRI Board of Trustees.

Rachel brings more than 30 years’ experience in health policy, regulation, international development and organisational governance. She has held an Executive Committee role at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and previously led major global health programmes within the UK Government.

Explaining what attracted her to PVRI, Rachel said:

I was really struck by the fact that pulmonary hypertension affects so many people, and yet can be overlooked and somewhat neglected. The central premise of PVRI – bringing together all those experts involved, to do better together - therefore makes a lot of sense to me. And through my career I’ve always been attracted to working on issues that are seen as “neglected” or “forgotten” – and to trying to do something about that.

Rachel’s extensive experience includes developing health and regulatory strategy, overseeing finance and risk, building international partnerships, and representing the UK at global forums including the WHO, OECD, G7 and G20. She hopes to bring this strategic and governance experience to the Board.

A key priority for me will be to work with the many experts involved to see how I can best complement their skills and support the great work that is already underway.

Looking ahead, Rachel is really interested in getting to know the PVRI community.

I’ve had some early interactions with the Board and the staff team, and I’ve read through the website: what comes across is the huge commitment of everyone involved. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the core teams and many others involved, and to working out how I can best support this global effort.

We look forward to working with Rachel - please join us in welcoming Rachel on board!
