iPVD Team

The Infection in Pulmonary Vascular Disease (iPVD) Consortium’s primary focus is to enhance awareness about the role of infection on PVD, and foster research collaborations in infectious diseases covering basic science, translational and clinical aspects, aiming to better understand its mechanisms and global impact.

iPVD Virtual Symposium Webinar Series

The iPVD Consortium Virtual Symposium webinar series, hosted by PVRI, is a global education programme highlighting the latest research on infections in PVD. The webinars provide a great opportunity for international speakers to participate, present, and ask questions of our fantastic committee. Webinars are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 15:00 BST/GMT, and recordings are available on our website.

I Brasillinois Symposium on infection and PVD

This iPVD consortium is supporting the I Brasillinois Symposium on infection and PVD, a one-day hybrid event bringing together internationally recognised experts and emerging investigators to explore how microorganisms drive inflammatory pulmonary vascular disease, the current clinical challenges, and potential novel druggable targets.

  • Date: Tuesday 26 May 2026
  • Time: 08.30 - 15:00 CT (13:30 - 18:00 BST)

iPVD Annual Symposiums

Annual iPVD Consortium meetings are usually held as a pre-conference session at PVRI Conferences. The meetings bring together researchers and clinicians worldwide to share their latest findings on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious PVDs. They cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • the epidemiology and risk factors for infectious PVDs
  • the molecular mechanisms by which infections trigger and worsen PVD
  • new diagnostic tools and biomarkers for infectious PVDs
  • emerging therapeutic strategies for infectious PVDs

5th iPVD Symposium held at PVRI 2026 Dublin

The programme examined challenges in clinical trials, environmental stressors affecting the pulmonary vasculature, and new insights into the microbiome's role in PVD.
