Infection in Pulmonary Vascular Disease (iPVD) Consortium
The Infection in Pulmonary Vascular Disease (iPVD) Consortium’s primary focus is to enhance awareness about the role of infection on PVD, and foster research collaborations in infectious diseases covering basic science, translational and clinical aspects, aiming to better understand its mechanisms and global impact.
Symposia & Conferences
The iPVD consortium annual meetings are usually held as a pre-conference session during the annual PVRI meeting. This meeting brings together researchers and clinicians from around the world to share their latest findings on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious pulmonary vascular diseases. The meeting covers a wide range of topics, including:
• The epidemiology and risk factors for infectious pulmonary vascular diseases
• The molecular mechanisms by which infections trigger and worsen pulmonary vascular disease.
• New diagnostic tools and biomarkers for infectious pulmonary vascular diseases
• Emerging therapeutic strategies for infectious pulmonary vascular diseases
Virtual Symposia by the iPVD Consortium
Another successful output of the iPVD Consortium is its Virtual Symposium webinar series, which has continued into 2024 after delivering six webinars on inflammation and infection in 2023. The series, hosted by PVRI, is a global education programme highlighting the latest research on infections in PVD. The webinars provide a great opportunity for international speakers to participate, present, and ask questions of our fantastic committee. Webinars are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 15:00 BST/GMT, and recordings are available on our website.
